What’s SRK got up his sleeve for his live performance in Dubai

Throughout this year, UAE fans of Hindi cinema have seen their favourite stars swing by the country to promote their latest projects. On Sunday, we will be treated to a whole lot more.
Shah Rukh Khan will lead some of the biggest names in Hindi cinema in a performance in Dubai that promises to be the biggest Bollywood entertainment event of the year: Access All Areas, presented by Duvent.
The show will also feature the film industry’s most bankable leading lady, Deepika Padukone, along with Madhuri Dixit, Yo Yo Honey Singh and Jacqueline Fernandez.
“The Access All Areas show has been in the works for a long time,” says Omar Saab of Duvent. “In fact, Shah Rukh Khan was personally involved in creating this show. We always aim for diversity and quality in the type of entertainment we bring to Dubai. The line-up of Khan, Deepika, Madhuri, Jacqueline and Honey Singh certainly makes a statement.”
Dubai hosts the debut night of what is actually a world tour. After Sunday’s event at Dubai International Cricket Stadium Access All Areas moves to other countries.
“There are many reasons Dubai was chosen as the destination to begin the world tour,” says Saab. “Dubai has more than 1.5 million residents from India and the Asian subcontinent, the majority of whom follow Khan and the Bollywood scene. Second, Bollywood is highly liked by the GCC community and has many fans among Arabs as well, adding to the diversity of the audience and satisfying the demand for his presence. Last but not least, Khan himself wanted a unique location [outside India] to launch the world premiere and Dubai ticked all the right boxes in terms of crowds, infrastructure and target audience.”
This will be Khan’s first live performance in Dubai since 2008 and the superstar is excited.
“A lot of effort has gone into planning this project,” says Khan. “I am really excited to see it come to fruition now. I have always received the best reception from residents of this region and hope to say thank you to them through this show. I am also grateful to all the wonderful people from the Indian film industry who will join me on this incredible journey. I cannot wait to share the stage with them.”
Padukone appeared with Khan in this year’s megahit Chennai Express, which grossed more than Dh230 million at the box office.
“I would like to thank all the people in the Gulf for their response to Chennai Express,” says Padukone. “I am glad I now have the opportunity to recreate some of the dances from our films and to entertain such a large group of Indians and other nationalities residing here, who truly appreciate the beauty of Indian cinema.”
“There are many surprises in store for the audience and we don’t want to give away any spoilers,” says Saab, when asked about the event highlights. “There’s loads of new choreography, including scenes from Bollywood’s most famous movies acted out by Padukone and Dixit with Khan, which have never been seen before. The main part, though, is a very unique stage set, brilliant lighting works, special effects and, of course, the incredible energy of the star performers.”
